Digital Divide Solution

Currently the Government of Malaysia through the Ministry of Energy, Water and Communication (MEWC) has adopted and implemented MSD's digital divide solution. :

Involved in the Government of Malaysia’s effort in bridging the digital divide by being the service provider of the Rural Internet Center program. We provided the following services:

• Setting up of the 42 Rural Internet Center
  (PID - Pusat Internet Desa)
• Provide ICT training to the communities
• Undertake community participation programs
• Provide centralized monitoring and reporting system Development of local content .
• Development of sustainability programs
• Certification program – (under development)
• e-Commerce program – (under development)
• Provide advisory and consultancy services on the program to the Government of Malaysia on a continuous basis
  

Central Monitoring System

Due to its effectiveness, the Government of Malaysia through MEWC, has adopted and implement the CMS in its digital divide program as the system is able to provide critical information and data to enable the Government to draw up a comprehensive plan to address the digital divide issue.

• A comprehensive monitoring and management system that cuts the time and effort spent monitoring and maintaining computers
• Paperless planned administration solution that offers administrators an interactive system for tracking user activities and provides reporting
• Provides dual language capabilities with a simple registration system and modern user interface

Human Capital Development

The involvement of MSD in the digital divide program has enable it to shift its core competency from the traditional IT related business to that of human capital development. The digital divide program has necessitate MSD to establish its own in-house training unit supported by 5 trainers who well qualified specifically in IT related subject matters and software applications.

These trainers are entrusted in the development of training program that would differ from the traditional approach to facilitate the flow of information from the trainer to the trainee.

Our programmers can also operate under either the Windows environment or open source platform or a combination of both. Depending on the requirement of the client, the applications can either be server based or web based.
