In most instances under the DD program, computers will be provided to the communities for their utilization. It is imperative for all parties involved to know if the computers are being utilized.

In this context, MSDT had designed and developed the CMS to enable the stakeholders to the project to monitor and track the utilization of the computers located in various part of the country.

“Due to the system effectiveness and wide ranging capability which has yet to be fully tapped as well as the provision of a comprehensive monitoring and management system, MEWC has adopted and deployed the CMS for the monitoring of its projects under the DD program. The system has enabled the MECW to: -

• To effectively monitor usage of all its computers at sites located throughout the country
• Extract critical information and data on computer usage to enable MECW to draw up a comprehensive future DD program to effectively address the DD issue in Malaysia
• Minimize manpower resources required to monitor and report preparation
• Dual language capability allows flexibility to the users who might be conversant with only a specific language
