PUSAT INTERNET DESA - PID/RURAL INTERNET CENTER - RIC

MSD is involved in the Goverment of Malaysia's effort in bridging the digital divide by being the service provider of the Rural Internet Center Program.

We provided the following services:-

• Setting up of the 42 Rural Internet Centers (PID - Pusat Internet Desa)
• Provide ICT trianing for communities
• Undertake community participation programs
• Provide centralized monitoring and reporting system
• Development of local content
• Development of sustainability programs
• Certification Program - (under development)
• e-Commerce program - (under development)
• Provide advisory and consultancy services on the program to the Government of Malaysia on a continuous basis
  

UNIVERSAL SERVICE PROVISION (USP)

MSD also a service provider of the Universal Service Provision program in the Government of Malaysia's digital divide initiative

We provide the folowing services:-

• Setting up of 17 pilot USP centers
• Provide ICT training to the local communities
• Undertake community participation program
• Development of local content
• Development of sustainability programs
• Provide Centralized Monitoring and reporting system for 870 USP centers nationwide
• Provide Continuous advisory and consultancy services on the program to the Government of Malaysia
  
  

OUR TRACK RECORD

• Survey on Rural Info Communication need for Japanese International Cooperation Agency
• Studies prior to the implementation of the Rural Internet Centers (RIC) for JICA
• Implementation of RIC at 3 models sites
• Conducted workshop with JICA on the 3 models sites
• Conducted second workshop with JICA on the 3 models sites
• Implementation of 42 Pusat Internet Desa centers nationwide
• Training for Universal Service Provision Phase 3 program (1000 Participants Nationwide)
• Development of Central Monitoring System for 870 USP Centers
• Implementation of Multimedia University Malaysia e-Learning @ Pusat Internet Desa
• Development of pilot school-community portal for secondary school in Kuala Lumpur (SMK Damansara Utama)
• Provide Basic and intermidiate ICT training for Universal Service Provision Phase 1, 2, 3 & 4 programs (3000 Participants Nationwide)
• Undertake various community participation e-Volunteer programs in rural communities throughout the country
